About Us

Who we are, where we are and why....

ScooterGal Confidential was started to encourage, inform and appeal to female scooterists all over the world. While most of the contributors ride classic metal scooters like Vespas and Lambrettas, all female scooterists are welcome. We wanted to give women a place to learn about their scooters, share their experiences and celebrate our rides.

The 'zine is run by April Whitney out of California's Silicon Valley. We take submissions from readers and offer a variety of articles.

About the staff

April Whitney
April has been riding since 1996 when she purchased her first scooter, a 1978 P200. Before that she had been a "Backseat Betty" on her friend Paul's scooter for years. Her first Christmas bonus yeilded the dough for the scooter and she hasn't looked back since. She is a past member of Vespa Club Los Gatos and a current member of the Dana Scully Scooter Club.

In 2003, she and two business partners purchased Scoot! Quarterly, North America's #1 Scootering magazine, wher she is the Managing Editor.

Her likes are: cute scooter boys, The Simpsons, The Smiths, voracious reading and all sorts of crafts which usually involve scooters. Her dislikes are: girls with too much drama, pickled vegetables, bragadocious people and the lack of fashionable yet safe riding clothes.
By trade, April is a publicist who loves to evangelize scootering whenever she can.
